Established in 1976 and still a family business today, Jean Machine was born out of a passion for the rising denim trend of the time and a mission to provide Canadians with the best high-quality denim brands plus a kind of expert service that you couldn’t find anywhere else. The denim dream started with just one location and has grown to 34 locations across Ontario. Jean Machine has occupied the same Toronto Eaton Centre location for over 20 years!
Back in the early years, jeans were a lot simpler. Each brand had fewer fits and washes. Denim brands like Lee, Wrangler, Sergio Valente, Jordache, Calvin Klein, SilverTab, Pepe, Bongo, JNCO, Ikeda and Indian Motorcycle were carried throughout the years. The 70’s and 80’s were certainly exciting times for jeans as everything was brand new. The trends of that time were really interesting for denim addicts. The flare, the 5-pocket jean, acid washed denim and the button fly became iconic. Possibly the most remarkable recent innovation is stretch. There are very few jeans made without it these days.
Time flies when you are having fun! Jean Machine has been selling Guess Jeans and Silver Jeans for nearly 30 years. Does anyone remember that Jean Machine offered phone booths with free local calls in stores?
Denim continues to be the inspiration today. There are at least triple the amount of jeans in stores because every brand has so many fits and every fit comes in many washes. Plus stores offer even more now! From casual sportswear to the latest apparel, each store is stocked with leading brands and styles to help make your wardrobe complete.
While, finding the right fit may not come easy, Jean Machine has stayed true to its mission by providing the best high-quality denim brands with expert service! The employees aren’t just style-makers, they’re Masters of Denim – educated and trained on every brand and style. They will help you find your Perfect Pair!
Jean Machine’s continued success is thanks to the amazing staff, great customer service and dedicated denim-loving customers! Happy 40th Anniversary Jean Machine and here’s to many more years of denim moments.
